We’re the workers of the North. In every community, we keep it all running. We deserve stronger protections, but right now, Northern workers are getting left behind. We need your help to change that.

In each territory, we’re calling on the government to make sure we have basic rights and respect. In Nunavut, we’re facing harassment and racism. We’re calling for stronger protections to make sure we all have a safe, respectful workplace. In the Northwest Territories, we’re working short staffed and we’re burning out. We’re calling for improved recruitment and retention. In the Yukon, casual workers without benefits or protections are being used to replace unionized workers. We’re calling for changes to make sure that all workers have the support and stability they need to do their best work.

Across all three territories, we’re calling for anti-scab legislation. Many other workers in Canada have the right to stand up for their rights through a strike without worrying that their jobs will be given away. But not in the North. We need the territorial governments to ban the use of scabs during strikes. That’s how we empower Northern workers to negotiate for what they need to deliver the services we all rely on.
